Sumter Organizations United for Literacy (SOUL) is hosting Language as a Missing Link Seminars beginning Tuesday, January 6, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center (PSMC). The sessions will take place in the Education Building 1B Wellness Room.
The seminars are geared toward parents and future parents, educators, healthcare professionals, law enforcement workers, and anyone interested in improving communication and understanding behavior. The goal is to strengthen awareness of how language development plays a critical role in emotional regulation, learning, and everyday interactions.
Sessions will be led by Jamie Thomas of Bright Bridge Learning. Additional seminars are scheduled throughout January and February, allowing participants multiple opportunities to attend.
The series is funded through the Deal Center Community Coalition Grant, with Sumter County Schools serving as the fiscal agent.
