Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports
Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS) is a data-driven, multi-level prevention system designed to meet the needs of the whole child by implementing a continuum of tiered supports (see Figure 1). GaMTSS is grounded in the belief that academics, behavior, and wellbeing are interconnected and impact student success. By integrating academics, behavior, and wellbeing data, systems, and practices, teams can align efforts to address barriers to learning and improve outcomes.
GaMTSS provides a structure to use integrated data to drive decisions and a process to select evidence-based practices. As depicted in the Five Essential Components (Figure 2), data-based decision making is at the center of GaMTSS and is an integral part of Georgia’s Systems of Continuous Improvement. This work requires district-level infrastructure to align data and practices into one integrated system of supports to improve student outcomes.
Please see the Five Essential Components document to learn more about GaMTSS.
